So as most of you already know, I will be leaving for Costa Rica a week from Friday! I am so excited and can't wait! This is a program with UGA.
The name of my program is Language & Culture Service Learning. Within this program I will be taking 2 classes. One of them is an ESOL Service-Learning Course and the other is called Language & Culture in the Classroom. This class is about how people from other cultures feel when they are outside of their traditional lifestyles, such as a Vietnamese man speaking no English walking into a Cici's Pizza in Georgia.
One of the activities we will do is go to a kindergarten and create a lesson plan in order to teach them English. We will also stay with a family for a week. And of course, we will travel Costa Rica and see one of their most known waterfalls - San Luis - and visit a "real" Costa Rican city (Turrialba), seeing how the UGA Costa Rica campus is in the middle of a jungle. Our last trip will be to Playa Hermosa.
I set up the blog so that everyone will be able to somewhat know what is going on. It would be great if you leave any comments that you wish, my phone will not be on and I'm trying to stay disconnected from the internet (aside from the blog) so that I can get the best experience possible! Thanks for following me and I hope to hear your comments. :)
Hope you have a great time.
